WP 3b: New biomarker-ligand and antibody detection and development: Clinical data and relevance

Leader: Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Rheumatology Clinic

In defined subgroups of patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis who are most carefully selected as being potentially important for the testing of biomarkers targeted by certain nanoparticles, we will be sampling immune cells, serum, synovial fluid and urine. These samples will be used to screen for functionality/validity of functionalised single nanoparticles. In addition, patient functional status and crucial MRI parameters will be identified in order to be merged with patient banking system.
